KaithalDrinking Water and Sewage Facilities in Rest of District Kaithal

Extensive facilities of drinking water and sewage have been extended for the first time in the remaining Assembly Constituencies of District Kaithal i.e. Kalayat, Gulha-Cheeka and Pundri. Details are as follows:

Kalayat Assembly Constituency

Since Independence upto March, 2005; Kalayat did not have any Canal Based Water Works. First Canal Based Water Works has been constructed and made operational with a capacity of 2 MLD (20 lakh litres daily) of drinking water at a cost of Rs.544 lakh. 70,000 feet (21.34 Kilometres) of new drinking water pipeline has been laid in Kalayat town at a cost of Rs.154 lakh.

A comprehensive stimulus package of Rs.2,215 lakh has been given by Randeep Singh Surjewala as Minister for Public Health. Details are as follows:

  • One more Canal Based Water Works with a capacity of 5 MLD (50 lakh litres per day) is under construction at a cost of Rs.600 lakh.
  • Two new Boosting Stations are proposed to be constructed for supplying water to the higher areas of Kalayat City with a cost of Rs.190 lakh.
  • 96000 feet (27.43 Kilometres) of additional drinking water pipeline is being laid at a cost of Rs.400 lakh.
  • 106000 feet (32.31 Kilometres) of new sewage pipeline is being laid at a cost of Rs.525 lakh. It may be worthwhile to mention that Kalayat town had no sewage facility earlier.
  • One Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) with a capacity of 5 MLD (50 lakh litres per day) is under construction at a cost of Rs.500 lakh.
  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, 52 new tubewells have been installed in various villages at a cost of Rs.400.12 lakh. Seven new tubewells with a cost of Rs.90 lakh are being installed in various villages at a cost of Rs.90 lakh.
  • Eight Canal Based Water Works have been made operational at a cost of Rs.1,532 lakh. These have been set up in the following villages:
    (i) Kheri Lamba
    (ii) Balu
    (iii) Rajound
    (iv) Matore
    (v) Kamalpur
    (vi) Badsikri Khurd
    (vii) Rohera Majra
    (viii) Pinjupura
  • Three new Canal Based Water Works are being set up at a cost of Rs.262.96 lakh. These are in following villages:
    (i) Ramgarh Pandwan
    (ii) Kolekhan
    (iii) Kelram
  • 50000 feet (15.24 Kilometres) of additional drinking water pipeline is being laid at a cost of Rs.320 lakh.
  • Two rural Boosting Stations are being set up at a cost of Rs.60 lakh.
  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, 13475 Scheduled Caste households have been given free drinking water connection, a tap and a 200 litre tank under Indira Gandhi Drinking Water Scheme at a cost of Rs.471.63 lakh. It is 100% coverage.
  • 36 submersible pumps have been installed for drinking water at a cost of Rs.19.45 lakh.

Guhla-Cheeka Assembly Constituency

  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, four tubewells have been installed in Guhla town at a cost of Rs.45 lakh. One Boosting Station has been installed in the city at a cost of Rs.25 lakh.
  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, 145 tubewells have been made operational at a cost of Rs.1,050.92 lakh.
  • 55000 feet (16.76 Kilometres) of drinking water pipeline has been laid since March, 2005 till date in Guhla City at a cost of Rs.85 lakh.
  • 175000 feet (53.25 Kilometres) of drinking water pipeline has been laid in various villages of Guhla-Cheeka Assembly Constituency at a cost of Rs.403.99 lakh.
  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, 10486 Scheduled Caste households have been given free drinking water connection, a tap and a 200 litre tank under Indira Gandhi Drinking Water Scheme at a cost of Rs.382.48 lakh. It is 100% coverage.
  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, 28000 feet (8.53 Kilometres) of sewage pipeline has been laid at a cost of Rs.45 lakh.
  • 18000 feet (5.48 Kilometres) of sewage pipeline is being laid at a cost of Rs.90 lakh.
  • One Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) with a capacity of 10 MLD (100 lakh litres per day) is under construction at a cost of Rs.700 lakh.

Pundri Assembly Constituency

  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, seven tubewells have been made operational with a cost of Rs.46 lakh in Pundri town.
  • In rural areas of Pundri Assembly, 96 tubewells have been installed at a cost of Rs.514.93 lakh. Four tubewells are also being installed with a cost of Rs.40 lakh.
  • One Canal Based Water Works has been set up in Village Pai of Pundri with a cost of Rs.113 lakh.
  • 30000 feet (9.14 lakh Kilometres) of drinking water pipeline has been laid in Pundri town at a cost of Rs.16 lakh.
  • 86500 feet (26.3 Kilometres) of drinking water pipeline has been laid in rural area of Pundri Assembly Constituency at a cost of Rs.217.46 lakh. 6000 feet (1.82 Kilometres) of drinking water pipeline is being laid presently at a cost of Rs.14 lakh.
  • 158 submersible pumps have been installed for drinking water at a cost of Rs.67.90 lakh.
  • 50000 feet (15.24 Kilometres) of sewage pipeline has been laid in Pundri town at a cost of Rs.249 lakh. 6000 feet (1.82 Kilometres) of additional sewage pipeline is being laid presently at a cost of Rs.20 lakh.
  • One Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) with a capacity of 3.50 MLD (35 lakh litres per day) is presently under construction with a cost of Rs.300 lakh.
  • 3.50 Kilometres of Storm Water drains have been constructed with a cost of Rs.175 lakh.
  • Since Ist March, 2005 till date, 13,374 Scheduled Caste households have been given free drinking water connection, a tap and a 200 litre tank under Indira Gandhi Drinking Water Scheme at a cost of Rs.488.58 lakh. It is 100% coverage.
